Selenium Java Automation Framework

A reusable browser-test framework built with Java 21, Maven, Selenium WebDriver 4, TestNG and Page Object Model architecture. Download the same corrected framework package and adapt it to your application.

Java 21 Maven Selenium 4 TestNG POM

What is included

The archive is structured as a complete automation starter rather than an empty Maven skeleton.

Driver lifecycleDriverFactory/DriverManager, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, local and remote execution.
Parallel-safe testsThread-isolated WebDriver sessions and configurable TestNG parallel execution.
Page Objects & waitsBasePage patterns, explicit waits, reusable page/components and sample flows.
Evidence & reportsFailure screenshots, logging, report integration and artifact handling.
Selenium GridDocker/Grid configuration with supported browser-session video workflow.
CI exampleGitHub Actions workflow and documented execution commands.

Quick start on Windows 11

Extract the ZIP, open the project root containing pom.xml, and run:

java -version
mvn -version
mvn clean test '-Denv=local' '-Dbrowser=chrome' '-Dheadless=false'

The framework includes its own documentation for smoke/regression execution, headless mode, cross-browser execution, Selenium Grid, screenshots, reports and Docker-based video where supported.

Architecture highlights

  • Page Object Model with reusable components and explicit waits
  • Configuration for environment, browser, headless mode, Grid URL and timeouts
  • TestNG DataProviders and structured test data
  • Failure evidence captured before browser cleanup
  • Parallel sessions kept isolated instead of sharing one static WebDriver
  • Local sample application/fixture so the starter does not rely on a changing third-party demo site

Verification note

The corrected archive passed package-integrity, Java-source syntax and configuration checks when it was prepared. Browser execution, Maven dependency resolution, Selenium Grid and Docker video behavior still depend on the Java/Maven/browser/Docker environment where you run it, so execute the included verification commands after download.

Video recording scope

Selenium WebDriver does not provide universal built-in video recording. This framework treats local browser execution and Docker/Grid recording differently: ordinary local execution relies on screenshots, while video is intended for the supported Grid/Docker workflow rather than pretending local WebDriver has a recording API.

Frequently asked questions

Is this only a sample project?

No. It is intended as a reusable starting framework with configuration, driver management, Page Objects, TestNG execution, evidence and Grid/CI examples. You still need to replace the sample application objects with your own application pages and tests.

Do I need Docker to run normal tests?

No. Local browser execution is the ordinary starting path. Docker is relevant when you want the provided Selenium Grid/video workflow.

Does the download require an account?

No. The ZIP is served directly from ToolHyv.
